The DNA is circular, but is shown linearized in the noncoding region (NCR). The genome is marked in kilobase pairs (kbp). The NCR contains the origin of replication and enhancer and promoter sequences. Early (E17) and late (L1,2) open reading frames are shown. All the open reading frames are on the same strand of viral DNA. Gene functions are listed at the bottom.
