The modularity of pseudouridine synthases. Various RNA-binding domains are appended onto the conserved pseudouridine synthase core to form enzymes with different substrate specificities. TruB (red ribbon), Pus10 (blue) and RsuA (green) were superposed by their catalytic domains, revealing the structural conservation within the common catalytic core and the location of their respective PUA, THUMP and S4-like RNA-binding domains.
