The lipid-raft-resident TC10 recruits multiple downstream effectors including the exocyst protein complex and the Par6-Par3-atypical PKC protein complex to the plasma membrane. Unique F-actin structure (Cav-actin) is also associated with the caveolae-rosette structure where TC10 exists. Since the exocyst protein complex is implicated in the regulation of tethering/docking step of exocytic vesicles, these microdomains may function as important platforms for regulating the GLUT4-vesicle exocytosis mediated by SNARE proteins (SNAP-23, syntaxin4, VAMP2).
