Effective interventions
  • Culturally appropriate and multi-component diet interventions that:
    -

    are planned and implemented in collaboration with religious leaders and congregational members using pastoral support and spiritual strategies (384-388, 390-392, 395, 396); and

    -

    include group education sessions and self-help strategies (384-387, 390, 396).

Moderately effective interventions
  • Culturally appropriate interventions targeting weight loss, healthy dietary habits and increased physical activity (388, 391, 395).
