Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus. This species contains three subspecies: subsp. delbrueckii, subsp. lactis, and subsp. bulgaricus. The subspecies bulgaricus is used as a starter culture for a number of fermented dairy products such as yogurt and Swiss and Italian-type cheeses, and is a thermophilic culture, where the optimum temperature is 42 C.
Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus ND02. This strain is isolated from traditional dairy products of minority nationalities in China.
Lactobacillus plantarum P8. This strain is isolated from traditional dairy products of minority nationalities in China, and has some good probiotic properties such as high resistance to acidic pH, bile salt and antibacterial activity.
