The project aims to study the differences between the local isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis with the standard strains at the genome level.
More...The project aims to study the differences between the local isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis with the standard strains at the genome level. Previous studies both from our lab and others have shown the predominance of ancient strains of M. tuberculosis in South India. We are interested to further study the unique region specific genes and polymorphisms.
