GenBank® Release 147

GenBank Release 147 (April 2005) contains over 44 million sequence entries totaling more than 48 billion base pairs. Release 148 is expected in June. GenBank is accessible via the Entrez search and retrieval system. The flatfile and ASN.1 versions of the Release are found in the “genbank” and “ncbi-asn1” directories respectively at:

Uncompressed, the Release 147 flatfiles consume about 185 gigabytes while the ASN.1 version consumes about 145 gigabytes. The data can also be downloaded at the mirror site:
