The DNA was isolated from a single genotype, Nisqually-1, that was clonally replicated at multiple locations. The DNA itself came from leaf tissue at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA and root tissue at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN.
The JGI and collaborators endorse the principles for the distribution and use of large scale sequencing data adopted by the larger genome sequencing community and urge users of this data to follow them. It is our intention to publish the work of this project in a timely fashion and we welcome collaborative interaction on the project and analysis. (http://www.genome.gov/page.cfm?pageID=10506376)
This version of the project represents approximately 7.5x coverage of the genome. The chloroplast genome is GenBank Accession Number EF489041.
This genome was annotated by the JGI Annotation team and the Poplar Consortium.
Annotation was added to the scaffolds in February 2009.
