Whole Genome Shotgun (WGS) sequencing projects are incomplete genomes or incomplete chromosomes that are being sequenced by a whole genome shotgun strategy. WGS assemblies may be annotated, but annotation is not required. Transcriptome Shotgun Assembly (TSA) sequences are computationally assembled sequences from primary data such as ESTs, traces and Next Generation Sequencing Technologies. To find a particular WGS/TSA sequence, search on this page for the project that contains the sequence, then click on the 4-letter accession prefix in the "Prefix" column. On the specific WGS/TSA project page, navigate to the "Contigs" tab and use the "Search" box to find a particular sequence. The sequence records can be viewed in FASTA or GenBank format. You cannot search for multiple sequences at one time; each must be done individually. The complete project can be downloaded in GenBank, fasta, and ASN.1 formats from the "Download" tab.
