Comments and References:

Genus Leukoma Romer 1857
The combination Protothaca staminea has been used in previous works, but the genus Leukoma (Leukoma Romer 1857) has priority over Protothaca, which is a junior synonym. For genus Leukoma see Treatise of Invertebrate Bivalvia volume 2 p. 688. Also see Mollusca collection catalogue of Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History http://www.sbcollections.org/iz/search_simple.php#sr
Many (all?) US West Coast bivalves previously classified in genus Protothaca including 'staminea' have been transferred to genus Leukoma Romer, 1857.
