NCBI CASP3 Assessment

The table below summarizes predictions crossing model accuracy thresholds as discussed here for prediction teams participating in the CASP3 Fold Recognition section. "Correct" predictions had at least one out of up to 5 models that exceeded model accuracy thresholds (at least 50% of the model aligned correctly as judged by numerical evaluation quantities "sf0 and sf4"). These are indicated by a "+" in the summary table. "Overpredictions" are those where no models exceeded the accuracy threshold and where "none" was not listed among the models, to express lack of confidence in the prediction. Predictions where any model was based on a template recognized by VAST structure-structure comparisons are also not considered overpredictions, regardless of the accuracy of the model. They are indicated with a "-" in the table. The column labeled "sum" gives the total number of correct/over-predictions for each team, according to this statistic. Note that most teams participating in CASP3 did not attempt to avoid "overpredictions" Avoiding false predictions has not been suggested or encouraged by the CASP3 organizers and the ratio between "correct" and "false" predictions was not part of the official assessment.
