Downloading Cn3D 4.1 (previous release) for Windows
 
  System Requirements:
  • Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP
  • OpenGL system library
  • 16, 24, or 32-bit display recommended
Download the Cn3D 4.1 installer here:

ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/cn3d/Cn3D-4.1.msi

Close all internet browsers and then double-click on the .msi file. This will launch the Windows Installer application if you have it already. If so, enter the information at the prompts, and then you're done. If not, or if the Windows tells you that you need a newer version of the installer software, you can download the latest Windows Installer from Microsoft by following the appropriate link below.

Windows Installer 2.0 for 95, 98, and Me

Windows Installer 2.0 for NT and 2000 (may require administrator privileges to install)

(Windows XP already has the required installer software.)

The installer should automatically configure the common web browsers to launch Cn3D from NCBI web pages. If for some reason this does not work, see the instructions for manually configuring your browser.

 
 
Newer Versions of Cn3D
 
  Note that a more recent version of the program, Cn3D 4.3, is available and includes new features such as the ability to view biologically functional units that have been identified in 3D structures, crystallographic symmetry, stereo views, new alignment algorithms, new highlighting features, more robust handling of sequence identifiers, and communication with CDTree.
