Genetic Map/Segregation Table Issues

Some of the original RFLP markers could not be unequivocally positioned because they were not scored for all 35 progeny. These markers could as likely occupy either of two neighboring positions and are, consequently not issued a position number in the NCBI segregation table and were not included in this dataset. In the Excel, HTML, and PDF formats, this is represented by "." (period) while in the AceDB ace file formats, the markers with no positions were removed from the ace files.

Software Issues

All users:

The HB3 x Dd2 cross segregation table is available in several formats for your convenience: HTML, Microsoft Excel, Adobe PDF, AceDB for Windows, and AceDB for Unix.

HTML: Any web browser should be able to view the HTML version. HTML version has been optimized for Netscape Navigator 4.0+ and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0+.

Excel: For easy spreadsheet manipulation, a Microsoft Excel (*.xls) spreadsheet version is also available. For users who do not have Microsoft Excel, please obtain the free Microsoft Excel 97 Viewer from http://officeupdate.microsoft.com/downloadDetails/xlviewer.htm for Windows 95/98/NT. Unfortunately an Excel Viewer for the Macintosh is not available.

PDF: A printable version of the HB3 x Dd2 cross segregation table is available in Adobe Acrobat 3.01/4.0 PDF format. A copy of the Adobe Acrobat Reader is at: http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html)

AceDB: To view an AceDB ace file, please obtain the AceDB software from ftp://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/repository/acedb/ Additional AceDB documentation is available at http://probe.nalusda.gov:8000/acedocs/index.html or http://www.sanger.ac.uk/Software/Acedb/Acedocs/

Mac Users:

To save a file onto the local hard drive:

- Hold the mouse button down on the files you want to download.
- A window should appear with the "Save As Link" option.
- Save the file in "Source" format onto the hard drive.
- Use the appropriate applications to view the file.
