List of Species Demarcation Criteria in the Genus

At present, species have been distinguished on the basis of their host-range and sequence differences. The nucleotide sequences of the genomes range in identity from about 30% to 75% and each species has been isolated from a different host species.

List of Species in the Genus

The ICTVdB virus code and the viruses. Official virus species names are in italics. Tentative virus species names, alternative names ( ), isolates, strains, serotypes, subspecies, or rejected names are not italicized.

Virus codes, virus names, genome sequence accession numbers [ ] and assigned abbreviations ( ), are:

None reported.

Similarity with other Taxa

Comparisons and analyses of RdRp and helicase sequences suggest that members of the Endornavirus genus are related to viruses of the "alpha-like" supergroup.

Derivation of Names

Endo, from Greek: within, and RNA.
