Morphology

Virions consist of a capsid. Virus capsid is not enveloped, round with icosahedral symmetry. The isometric capsid has a diameter of 28 nm.

Experimentally infected insusceptible Hosts: Families containing insusceptible hosts: Solanaceae. Species inoculated with virus that do not show signs of susceptibility: Nicotiana tabacum.

Brassica campestris ssp. napus and ssp. rapa — local chlorotic or necrotic lesions; systemic necrosis of veins and petioles, severe stunting.

Brassica campestris ssp. pekinensis — local necrotic and/or chlorotic lesions; occasional systemic veinal necrosis and leaf distortion.

Diagnostic host: insusceptible host species Nicotiana tabacum.
