Launch NCBI Home Page

Goals

• Find the sarin PubChem Compound Summary page.
• Find toxicology data on sarin from NLM

Steps

1. Retrieve the PubChem Compound Summary page for sarin
   
   • On the NCBI home page, enter sarin in the search box and click Go.
   • Find the PubChem Compound results and click on the number of hits, and then on the CID (Compound IDentifier) for the first record retrieved.

2. Link to toxicology data
   
   • At the top of the record, click Link next to NLM Toxicology to retrieve the NLM ChemIDPlus Summary page.

3. View a 3D structure of sarin
   
   • Click Enlarge Structure under the depiction of the structure.
   • Check the Display 3D model box to display the 3D structure of Sarin.
   • By left-clicking on the image and dragging you will rotate the molecule. If you right-click on the image you will pop-up a menu which will allow for additional manipulations.
   • Close the window when you're done.

4. View toxicity data for sarin
   
   • Back on the NLM ChemIDPlus Summary page, click on the Toxicity box under Basic Information.
   • Close the window when you're done.

5. View physical properties for sarin
   
   • Click on the Physical Properties box under Basic Information.
