Finding BioAssay Data:
Gaucher Disease |
Goals
- Find bioassays relevant to Gaucher Disease
- Locate the linked gene record involved in Gaucher Disease
- Download active compounds in all relevant bioassays
Steps
- Search OMIM to find a phenotype record
- On the NCBI home page, choose OMIM from the Database menu.
- Type "gaucher disease" in the search box (use the double quotes!).
- Click Go.
- Limit to records with BioAssay data
- Click the Preview/Index tab above the record summaries.
- Choose Filter from the All Fields menu.
- Type omim in the text box to the right and click Index.
- Click omim pcassay and then AND.
- Click Go.
- Link to Gene
- Choose Gene Links in the Display menu.
- Click the gene symbol to review the gene annotation.
- Click OMIM in the Links menu to the right to return to OMIM.
- Link to PubChem BioAssay
- Choose PubChem BioAssay Links in the Display menu.
- Link to active compounds in all assays
- Choose PubChem Compounds, Active in the Display menu.
- Choose PubChem Download in the Display menu, and choose a data format.
- Click Download to retrieve the data.
