Download sequence data between two markers: D18S1124 and RH120891.

Analysis/Comments back to top

Markers are used to identify regions of genomic sequence that are of interest. Once the relevant sequence region has been identified, the researcher may want to examine and manipulate the included sequence in a variety of ways. One of the MapViewer's options specifically allows this to be done.

  1. Human Map Viewer - This is a basic search for the human Map Viewer. An advanced search with additional options is also available.

Step By Step Guide back to top

  1. Go the Genome View of the human genome and search for one of the markers.
  2. Click on the chromosome that contains the marker. (Chromosome 18)
  3. Enter both marker names in the "Region shown" boxes in blue sidebar and click on Go.
  4. Use the "Download/View Sequence/Evidence" option to save the sequence.
    Note:
    • Is there a gene in the region of sequence between these two markers?
    • What is the length of the sequence between them?
