Yi-Bu Chen
has PhD in Biology. His research primarily centered on the physiology and gene regulation
of nitrogen fixation and photosynthesis.
He is currently working as the Bioinformatics Specialist at Norris Medical Library,
University of Southern California, where he offers workshops and consultations to
USC health science community on bioinformatics resources, develops and maintains the
Library's webpage on
Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology Resources and s-Services, and
continues to seek more efficient ways to bridge the gap between researchers’
rising information needs and explosive growth of biomedical information and knowledge.
Prior to that, Dr. Chen worked in the Molecular Biology Information Service of the
University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System and was the recipient of
a National Library of Medicine Biomedical Informatics Training Fellowship.
He worked with Dr. Chattopadhyay of the University of Pittsburgh and other colleagues to
develop the Online Bioinformatics Resource Collection, a database that contains
annotation information on over 1700 online bioinformatics databases and software tools.
