Additional Search Tips

Up to this point, this module has provided an introduction to several search methods (basic, advanced, complex Boolean) and some special Entrez functions such as Limits, Preview/Index, and History.

In addition, there are a number of search tips that can help you to further control and refine your query:

• helpful search fields - allow you to limit your query by various record attributes, such as molecule type, source database (i.e., subset), and more


• helpful search functions - for example, retrieve records within a given range of values


• helpful search features - brief review of some features covered earlier, such as related records within a database and hard links across databases, plus brief mention of additional features such as LinkOuts and Cubby
