Specialized Database Example:
Database of Expressed Sequence Tags (dbEST)

An example of an EST from human insulin is CA842207. You can use the "Display" menu to view the record in different formats, including the specialized EST format.

The UniGene cluster Hs.654579 for human insulin (INS) provides access to many more insulin ESTs, along with other types of sequences available for that gene. Note that some ESTs are longer than 300-500 bp (and are 1000 bp or longer), but they still have the other characteristics noted above.
