I will present a problem from cancer treatment as an example. This continuous problem can be discretized and approximated by a nonlinear program. Interior point methods for nonlinear programming may exploit the special structure of this problem to solve it more quickly. I present a new interior point nonlinear programming code that is written object-oriented fashion so that it may be specialized to such problem instances.
