07/02 RefSeq Release 1 A full compilation of all NCBI RefSeqs is now available via the RefSeq Homepage and the FTP site. Release 1 includes genomic, transcript, and protein data with sequences from approximately 2000 taxids and over 783,000 proteins.

06/11 GEO and GDS Two new Entrez databases, Entrez GEO and Entrez GEO DataSets (GDS), have been created and populated to support effective querying and mining of GEO, the gene expression and hybridization array data repository.

05/22 SARS Resource A new SARS Coronavirus Resource is now available. This resource provides the most recent sequences, annotations, and analysis of the SARS coronavirus genome, with links to publications and related resources.

05/19 MeSH MeSH, NLM's controlled vocabulary used for indexing articles in PubMed, has been added to the Entrez retrieval system. MeSH terminology provides a consistent way to retrieve information that may use different terminology for the same concepts.
