In February, 2009 the National Center for Biotechnology Information celebrated it's 20th anniversary with a symposium at which invited speakers took a look back at the history of NCBI's creation and development. In addition, a video was produced that summarizes NCBI's history and important role in molecular biology and the field of genetics.
